On second thought…
President Trump, who recently said he would be “honored” to meet with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, is now telling reporters that he will bail out if he decides it won’t produce results.
While discussing the possible sitdown during a joint news conference Wednesday alongside Japan’s Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, Trump said he could end up leaving the meeting with Kim early — or passing on it altogether.
Trump sounded optimistic that a summit would prove worthwhile.
In the meantime, he said, a U.S.-led “maximum pressure” campaign of tough economic sanctions on North Korea will continue until the isolated nation “denuclearizes.”
Abe agreed, adding there should be no reward for responding to dialogue.
